Day 1. The countdown restarts and the price cut threefold
The ninety-day countdown starts over from today. The first start on September 1 fell through: I left for a vacation booked before I announced the experiment, and for two weeks there was not a line here. There is no point hiding it, the numbers for the pause are in the prologue.
The main decision of the day is the price. Over the previous stretch there were 8 sign-ups, one person reached checkout and left after seeing 14,990. One dropped payment is not statistics, but testing the hypothesis further at zero revenue makes no sense. I cut it to 4,990 and I am watching whether behaviour changes on the same traffic.
The second decision is about channels. One reply of mine in someone else's Threads thread brought 300 people to the site in a day, while the reels over two weeks gave 42 views. So reels alone are not enough, text and presence in other people's discussions are needed. From here I do both, but shift the weight to Threads.
